Calling budding bands

Amplifier project

Do you have dreams of being in a band and recording and performing your own music?

Come and learn about all aspects of music from striking your first chord, to live production, recording a demo, how to get sign or even set up your own record label.

Our popular Amplifier Project is for anyone looking for a career in music and we’ll also cover music technology, journalism, marketing & promotion.

We like to claim a small part in the success of one hugely famous local artist - Ed Sheeran - who played some of his first gigs here and more recently up and coming band - Salvador - have played here and gone on to support Ed Sheehan at his Chantry Park.

for parents

The project is led by the highly experienced Matt Shepherd, a highly respected and experienced musician who’s still young enough to directly inspire young people! He has run several similar, highly successful projects in the past. It’s a great opportunity for young people to learn about all aspects of modern music, concentrating on those that interest them most in a creatively rewarding environment.

Amplifier gave the young people a different head space ............. It gives the young people a choice; it can be a positive experience in which they see that they can do something - for many of them, particularly those who have had negative experiences in education, this is really important.”
